Shrijana is now 15 years old and is in grade 10 currently. She is interested in different extra activities, which is her extra talent. As she study hard and her aim is good too. The condition of poverty has been dramatically increasing in the developing countries like Nepal even though there has been number of projects carried out every year to minimize the percentage of people who are living under the bottom line of poverty. Children living in poverty will not only have physical disturbance but also have to tolerate physiological problems. As saying demands "when poverty, love & happiness fly out of windows", where love & peace doesn't exist life will encounter so many vex. However, the ignorance of & failure in the correct utilization of locally available natural resource by the people is directly responsible for slow rate of development & poverty in the developing country like Nepal.
During the "Educate the children" mission by Nepal Tomike Child Education Foundation we, (Sunil Shrestha as a Vice president of the NGO, & Mr. Pratik Shrestha as a Treasurer of the NGO) were assigned to have a field study to find out the children who needs scholarship support very much & get the report accordingly. This time we have selected Lalitpur (Patan) as our working area. There are many poor people are living in those area. We have understand the situation of these children, this is why we feels like the names mentioned bellow are in need of our support very much & we are pleased to introduce them as following.
Ms. Bishnu Maya Moktan is the student of Patan Higher Secondary School. She is studying grade two currently. Her permanent address is Kapilkot, Sindhuli but she is staying at Thapathali at rental house. She got 6 member in her family including herself. Her father's name Padam bahadur Moktan, mother Sunu Moktan, younger sisters are Soma, Santa & Chhaishang Moktan respectively. She is the elder daughter of her parents.
As their family is big but the income comes from her father's only. Because of her father & mother are illiterate that's why her father works as a labour & gets Rs. 4,000.00 per months. Which makes difficult in fulfilling their family needs & also the grow of the children are joined to school. They want to make their children educate.
She is also very well in study & other activities. After studying about their economic condition we are willing to help them.
Mr. Krishna Dulal is the only son of his family, who is 9 yrs old boy & studying in grade three at Patan Higher Secondary School. Their permanent address is Sanosirwari, Sindhupalchowk but currently staying at Gwarkhu. He got 7 members in his family including himself. His father name Chet Nath Dulal, Mother Devalki Dulal, elder sister Nirmala Dulal & younger sisters Kamala, Bimala & Laxmi Dulal respectively. All of the 5 children are the student of same school. His father & mother both of them are illiterate So, they have small street-shop of donuts from which they are surviving. So, it looks very difficult for them to manage all the basic needs as family size is big.
Krishna Dulal himself is also a good learner & get good position in his education. He likes to play football. He is very clever boy & his aim is to be a doctor. So, her mother requests us for our NGO's support.
Ms. Saraswati Ghale is a 10 yrs girl & studying in grade four at Patan Higher Secondary School. She is the youngest daughter of Mr. Som Bahadur Ghale & Mrs. Dev Kumari Ghale. She also got elder sister named Laxmi Ghale. Her permanent address is Sanosirwari, Sindhupalchowk & currently staying at Kumbheshwor (Patan/Lalitpur). Her parents both are illiterate & works as labour & sometime it become worst for them to manage the family economic situation. So, looking & studying the situation the girl hard work towards her education. We would like to provide her the scholarship. She wants to study as her aim is to be a teacher. She likes to singing & dancing. As per the situation, we would like to support them.
Ms. Sharmila Bomjan is the eldest daughter of her parents, Mr. Shyam lal Bomjan & Mrs. Sujina Bomjan. She is studying in grade five at Patan Higher Secondary School & her age is 12 yrs old. She also got her younger sister named Parmila Bomjan studying grade four. Her parents are both illiterate & they work as a labour from which they couldn't manage to fulfill their family needs. So, economically they are very poor. As they are stay at rental house at Ekdole/ Lalitpur. Her father & mother's income is Rs. 2,000 & 1,500 respectively.
Sharmila is good at her study & her aim is to be a nurse. Her hobbies are dancing, drawing & other activities. which make us to provide her the scholarship too.
Ms. Sushila Moktan is 8 yrs old girl, who is the daughter of Late Mr. Ram Bahadur Moktan & Mrs. Hasta Maya Moktan. Their Permanent address is Fakhel, Makwanpur. She is Studying at Madan Smark Higher Secondary School in grade two. Her father is expired so, her mother with her uncle Mr. Jeet Bahadur Moktan at Patan/ Lalitpur. Her mother is illiterate So, her mother is getting trouble to get her daughter education. She also got her younger brother named Sushil Moktan . Sushila is good at her study & her aim is to be a doctor. Her hobbies are dancing & reading story books.
After all these sort of study, we are agree to provide her the scholarship as her study is also very well.
Ms. Roshani Lamichhane who is 10 yrs old currently is an orphan. She is taken care by her two uncle (Mother's brother) named Mr. Badri Kumar Khadka & Bikram Kumar Khadka who are working in Zoo & foreign employees respectively. Their permanent address is Simra, Bara District but they are staying at Jawalakhel/ Lalitpur. But as she is the daughter of their sister they finds some difficulties.
She is Studying at Madan Smark Higher Secondary School in grade three with good percentage. Her financial condition is not good as we see.So, we'd like to provide our social service for that orphan girl.
Ms. Kareena Lama is the elder daughter of her parents Mr. Nathu Ram Lama & Mrs. Sarada Lama. She has younger sister Kabita Lama & younger brother Kapil Lama too. She is Studying at Madan Smark Higher Secondary School in grade three with good marks. Their permanent address is Sarlahi & currently they are staying at Patan dhokha / Lalitpur. She got altogether 5 members including herself. They are very poor, their financial situation is very bad because of her parents both are illiterate, his father work in welding & mother is house wife. Which is difficult to live with single person's earning. That's why we decided to provide our scholarship this girl too.
Srijana is one of the 14 yrs old girl who has been provided scholarship from our NGO when she was in grade 6.Now she is studying in grade 8 in Bishwo Niketan Higher Secondary School at Tripureshor, Kathmandu. Her family does not own any property (land/house). They are currently staying in one of the house that belongs to the Nepalese Government. She has 5 members in her family including two youngest sisters. The mid-sister is also in same school in grade 7. Before our help her family couldn't manage the school fee because their economical condition was not good enough to pay for her. Her father had study up to class 8, but her mother had passed till grade 9.As they couldn't get good job because they are not highly educated. So, they want their children to get high education.
Srijana is an active, talented and hard working young girl. Her aim is to be a Scientist as her favorite subject is also science. She is very good in study so she is first girl in class. Besides study she is interested in extra-curriculum activities such as Quiz contest, Debate contest, Dancing and writing poems. One of her poem was published in the Annual School Report 2005.She has also participated in tree planting programmed. She even helps her mother at home whenever she gets free.
Bimal Moktan is 11 yrs old boy but studying in class 2 in a government school of Bagdol, Lalitpur. According to his age he should be studying in class 4 but he couldn't join the school due to financial problem that his parents have been facing. Moktan family is from Ilam district, the Eastern Part of Nepal and living in a rental room in Bagdol. His father is SLC passed and he is working as a labor. Bimal's father get another wife as his step-mother and his own mother is living with his 3 elder sisters in Ilam. Bimal is staying with his father, Step-mother and 1 step-sister and 1 step-brother. His Step-mother did not love him but his father does and takes care of him very much.
Bimal likes to read and write as well as he has been doing his homework himself after his school time and after that if he has time, then he likes to play football, sometime dancing in his room also. He is very intelligent and hard working boy .He can cook some food also if he need. His aim is to be Engineering so that his favorite subject is also Math & Science.
